From the Tiger Rag – November 16, 1973 written by Nubs
Remember When?
Remember when you were in grade school? Well, if you don’t we’ll see if we can shake your memory:
Remember when you used to go with at least two to three people a day? And at recess if you didn’t chase them or tag or if you even talked to another girl they would break up with you?
Remember when you went to the show on Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon no matter if the same feature was showing all three times? The guys would go to Peck Hayden’s and buy four or five bottles of Tips breath refresher which was about 30 proof. Then they‘d go to the show and put them in their suicide (which was a mixture of every different soda they had). You’d find a seat behind all the girls and if things worked out you’d be sitting with one of the girls by the end of the previews. If not, you could always watch everyone else make out and time their kisses until a guy with a flashlight named Leon busted everything up.
Remember when you used to play marbles? You always inherited your big brother’s collection of about three hundred. You had liggies, which were hard to come by and stealies which were the best coz you could smash everyone else’s marbles.
Remember on Valentine’s Day everyone made Valentine boxes out of shoe boxes and decorated them with hearts? Everyone gave everyone else a valentine. You’d go out and buy a fifty-pack box of valentines and then sort through them and give the best one to the boy or girl you like best.
Remember when the guys would bring their transistor radios to school and listen to the Cardinals play in the World Series?
Remember when the guys got I.D. bracelets for Christmas and their girlfriends had them by New Years?
Remember when nobody wrote articles like these?

 Life taught lessons

1. Life isn't fair, but it's good!!

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch!!

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.

8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.

9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck

10.  When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11.  Don't compare your life to others.  You have no idea what their journey is about.

12.  If you have to keep a relationship a secret, you don't need to be in it.

13.  Everything can change in the blink of an eye.  But don't worry, God never blinks.

14.  Take a deep breath.  It calms the mind.
